Project Director, Local Partnerships
Michael joined Local Partnerships in January 2020 as a Project Director, bringing a broad range of experience of ‘place based’ roles in housing, energy efficiency and estates transformation.. . As Assistant Director of Housing for Manchester City Council and subsequently as Assistant Director of Environment at Greater Manchester Combined Authority, Michael lead domestic and non-domestic energy efficiency programmes across 10 local authorities, building strong partnership with public, private, social housing, academic and community-based organisations. He set up and managed the GM Energy Advice Service, and the GM Green Deal and ECO retrofit prorgamme, which won the ‘Large Scale Project of the Year Award’ at the 2018 National Energy Efficiency & Retrofit Awards. . . Michael recently led a Local Partnerships commission to produce a Local Authority domestic retrofit handbook and toolkit on behalf of BEIS and the regional energy hubs.. . Michael has a first-class honours degree in Social Policy, an MSc in Quantity Surveying and postgraduate diplomas in Housing and Management studies. He has been a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing for over 20 years.
