Methods of processing

The Owner takes appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, or unauthorized destruction of the Data.

The Data processing is carried out using computers and/or IT enabled tools, following organizational procedures and modes strictly related to the purposes indicated. Legal basis of processing

Place

The Data is processed at the Owner’s operating offices and in any other places where the parties involved in the processing are located.

Retention time

Personal Data shall be processed and stored for as long as required by the purpose they have been collected for.

Therefore:

Personal Data collected for purposes related to the performance of a contract between the Owner and the User shall be retained until such contract has been fully performed.

Personal Data collected for the purposes of the Owner’s legitimate interests shall be retained as long as needed to fulfill such purposes. Users may find specific information regarding the legitimate interests pursued by the Owner within the relevant sections of this document or by contacting the Owner.

The Owner may be allowed to retain Personal Data for a longer period whenever the User has given consent to such processing, as long as such consent is not withdrawn. Furthermore, the Owner may be obliged to retain Personal Data for a longer period whenever required to do so for the performance of a legal obligation or upon order of an authority.

Once the retention period expires, Personal Data shall be deleted. Therefore, the right to access, the right to erasure, the right to rectification and the right to data portability cannot be enforced after expiration of the retention period.

The Data concerning the User is collected to allow the Owner to provide its Services, as well as for the following purposes: Analytics, Contacting the User, event participation and event session recording, Advertising, Newsletters, Remarketing and behavioral targeting, Interaction with online survey platforms and Data transfer outside the UK.

DETAILED INFORMATION ON THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA

Advertising and newsletters

This type of service allows User Data to be utilized for advertising communication purposes displayed in the form of banners and other advertisements on this Application, possibly based on User interests, and email newsletters managed by the Owner using third-party service providers.

This Application may use identifiers for mobile devices (including Android Advertising ID or Advertising Identifier for iOS, respectively) and technologies similar to cookies to run the Facebook Audience Network service. One of the ways Audience Network shows ads is by using the User’s ad preferences. The User can control this in the Facebook ad settings.

Users may opt-out of certain Audience Network targeting through applicable device settings, such as the device advertising settings for mobile phones or by following the instructions in other Audience Network related sections of this privacy policy, if available.

Facebook Lookalike Audience is an advertising and behavioural targeting service provided by Facebook, Inc. that uses Data collected through Facebook Custom Audience in order to display ads to Users with similar behaviour to Users who are already in a Custom Audience list on the base of their past use of this Application or engagement with relevant content across the Facebook apps and services.

On the base of these Data, personalized ads will be shown to Users suggested by Facebook Lookalike Audience.

Google Ads Similar audiences (Google Ireland Limited)

Similar audiences is an advertising and behavioral targeting service provided by Google Ireland Limited that uses Data from Google Ads Remarketing in order to display ads to Users with similar behavior to Users who are already on the remarketing list due to their past use of this Application.

On the basis of this Data, personalized ads will be shown to Users suggested by Google Ads Similar audiences.

Users who don’t want to be included in Similar audiences can opt out and disable the use of advertising cookies by going to: Google Ad Settings.

This service uses the “DoubleClick” Cookie, which tracks use of this Application and User behavior concerning ads, products and services offered.

Data transfer outside the UK

The Owner is allowed to transfer Personal Data collected within the UK to third countries only pursuant to a specific legal basis. Any such Data transfer is based on one of the legal bases described below.

Heat mapping and session recording

Heat mapping services are used to display the areas of a page where Users most frequently move the mouse or click. This shows where the points of interest are. These services make it possible to monitor and analyse web traffic and keep track of User behaviour.

Some of these services may record sessions and make them available for later visual playback.

Interaction with online survey platforms

This type of service allows Users to interact with third-party online survey platforms directly from the pages of this Application.

If one of these services is installed, it may collect browsing and Usage Data in the pages where it is installed, even if the Users do not actively use the service.

Remarketing and behavioural targeting

This type of service allows this Application and its partners to inform, optimize and serve advertising based on past use of this Application by the User.

Event Registrations/Admissions for Low Carbon Homes

Low Carbon Homes reserve the right to deny or withdraw registration and admission to any Low Carbon Homes event to any individual or employee of an organisation that does not match the audience profile or demographic which is intended by our supporting partners. Low Carbon Homes events are designed to address specific retrofit needs and, as such, need to maintain a strict audience demographic to enable input, networking and feedback to support needs and retrofit agendas which are specific to each event. Organisations and individuals outside an event's target profile can apply to us for admission to an event or follow any specific instructions on the event's website.

Facebook Custom Audience (Facebook, Inc.)

Facebook Custom Audience is a remarketing and behavioural targeting service provided by Facebook, Inc. that connects the activity of this Application with the Facebook advertising network.

Users can opt out of Facebook’s use of cookies for ads personalization by visiting this opt-out page.

In addition to the usage of data described within this policy we may also share your data with other third parties, including:

  • Companies outside of Low Carbon Homes who act as sales agents on behalf of Low Carbon Homes
  • Service providers who provide IT systems, customer management systems, visitor registration systems, event management systems, newsletter, online event and administration services and who will process your data in accordance with the terms of our data processing agreements with them. These include providers such as Google, Remo, Curated, OnePageCRM and CiviCRM
  • Venue providers or providers of event services who need to process your personal data in order to fulfil their contracts with you or with Low Carbon Homes to provide services at our events
  • Event sponsors, exhibitors and partners so that they can better plan their activities to enhance attendee experience, and to share their offers and services
  • Other attendees on the official Event App (if applicable) to allow attendees to contact each other and facilitate networking. No email addresses and telephone numbers will be made public through the delegate listing or otherwise. You may opt out of delegate communication through this medium at any time.
  • In the event that you request tickets for an event using a link provided by a third party, your data may be shared with such third party
  • In the event that you allow an exhibitor, sponsor or another visitor to scan your visitor badge, your data will be shared with such party
  • In the event that your interests match those of exhibitor, sponsor or partner, your details may be shared with such exhibitor, sponsor or partner
  • In the event that you indicate via a form your interest for more information from a third party or would like to subscribe to a third party mailing list, your details will be passed to such third party
  • We may share your information with law enforcement agencies, public authorities or other organisations if legally required to do so, or if we have a good faith belief that such use is reasonably necessary to comply with legal obligation, process or request

We may also disclose your information to third parties:

  • In the event that we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we may disclose your data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets; or

The rights of Users
