Bean Beanland
A physics graduate from Imperial College, Bean is the Director for Growth & External Affairs for the Heat Pump Federation, and  and an Associate of the Royal College of Science.

Bean has over ten years' experience in energy and carbon mitigation, concept design, procurement and installation of mechanical services and renewable technologies.

Bean has overseen the specification and delivery of over seventy ground-source systems (thirty-five coupled to boreholes and ranging between 20kW and 250kW in capacity) many of which supply heat and potable hot water to listed and period buildings.

Bean is highly active in the industry supporting the development of heat pump technology, installer training and standards and government policy. He is Chairman of Council (GSHPA) and a Memberof the Policy Development Committee and shallow ground-source standard working group. He's also a member of further key organisations including the MCS Working Group WG6 on Heat Pump Design Standards and Compliance, the MCS Stakeholder Advisory Group, OFGEM Industry Forum on the Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme, DBEIS Industry Advisory Group on the Renewable Heat Industry and DBEIS Off-Grid Industry Council, BRE SAP Industry Forum and a Contributor to CIBSE CP2 Surface Water Source Heat Pumps Code of Practice for the UK.
