Chris is co-founder of Loco Home Retrofit Community Interest Company, a non profit retrofit intermediary in Glasgow. He is a Certified Passivhaus Consultant, graduate of the AECB Carbonlite Retrofit course and a Heat Geek Mastery graduate. He has extensive experience of community participation from ten years chairing his local Community Council in Glasgow.
Loco Home is a non-profit co-operative of households, contractors and advisers. It is governed by its members and is served by a small staff. It aims to build both the market and the supply chain for low carbon retrofit. Loco Home Retrofit provides online and in-person resourcs for information, education and peer support. It also provides a service that develops bespoke step-wise retrofit plans that integrate with maintenance and renovation goals. Furthermore, it is developing approaches for collective action by owners of houses and flats with funding from Innovate UK and CivTech.
