Guy Chaundy
Guy has over 38 years’ experience working in Local Government in Birmingham, primarily but not solely within housing. As a housing professional he has managed front-line housing and neighbourhood services on a large scale, led on policy and strategy development and major change programmes across Birmingham City Council including leading for the city on the introduction of welfare reforms.
He has been integral in establishing and leading on key strategic partnerships in the city including the Housing Birmingham Strategic Partnership and Financial Inclusion partnerships.
Guy has developed the new Housing Strategy and Enabling function within the city driving our work in strategy and policy development, raising our profile as the largest housing authority in the country and working with key regional and national organisations and partners.
More recently Guy has overseen Birmingham’s response to the issues surrounding Supported Exempt Accommodation, including bringing together all areas of the Ccuncil and partners to deliver the recent national pilot, working closely with DLUHC and giving evidence to parliamentary select committees, which has led to national policy shifts in this area.

Currently he is leading on a wide range of transformation programmes to further drive improvements to the housing offer for the city, including how we support delivering route to zero targets through retro fit.
