Head of Heat Pump Installers, BEIS

Chris Galpin is head of Heat Pump Installers policy at the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS). An engineer with experience in renewables and building services, Chris now leads Government’s work with industry to ensure that good quality training is available for heating engineers looking to install low carbon heating. Government has set a target of installing at least 600,000 heat pumps every year by 2028, and over 30,000 trained heating engineers will be needed to make this happen.
