Martin Oldfield
Head of Housing Services, Manchester City Council
Martin has worked in local government for nearly 40 years. Six years at the London Borough of Camden followed by the last 31 plus in Manchester. He's had a variety of roles in the Housing Department in Manchester from managing the Right to Buy team, working on competitive tendering, surviving in estate management, securing three housing regeneration PFI-funded contracts, working on several stock transfers and currently Head of Housing Services covering the strategic as well as the operational arms of the department.
He sits on the Executive of the National Councils With Almos Group, leads a workstream of the Council's Family Poverty Strategy (Getting the Basics Right) and sits on the Council's zero carbon workstream on the built environment.
