Rob Cogings
Director of Housing, Derbyshire Dales District Council
Rob came into housing in 1994 through his work as an Environmental Health Officer at Stoke on Trent City Council working in private sector renewal. After completing an MA in Housing Rob moved to Staffordshire Moorlands DC. In 2002 he moved to Derbyshire Dales DC where he has developed the strategic housing role and attracted considerable housing investment. He completed the final year of the part time MBA course at Derby University in 2008.
Rob is Director of Housing and member of the Corporate Leadership Team at Derbyshire Dales DC. Rob works to influence national and regional policy and promote investment in rural areas. He has worked with the Improvement and Development Agency as lead Mentor on the Rural Excellence Programme and in other peer review and advice projects. Rob was formerly a member of the Government's Rural Housing Advisory Group. Much of his work now focuses on Community Led Housing, retrofit of non traditional homes and Estate Regeneration as well as helping to support housing initiatives across Derbyshire.
